Electric Meter Reader
Meter readers usually like the outdoors, freedom from an office and walking. During the first three months, we require you ride with one of our current readers so you can learn the skill of meter reading. After you pass a written test you will begin reading meters on your own. Dogs are a hazard and a joy with this job. One must stay alert when entering private property and always be prepared for any situation that can occur. Complacency is always a concern. We require our meter readers read different routes every month. This minimizes complacency and makes us very diverse in our meter reading abilities.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Applicant needs to be physically capable of walking long distance in adverse weather conditions.
Dogs, dogs and more dogs.
This job requires entering private property. people skills are a must.
We work as a team. Applicant must work well within a team setting.
Must complete a written meter reading exam.
Responsibilities:
3 months of meter reader and diversion detection training.
Daily completing the meter route you are assigned.
Scoping reads with binoculars.
Dogs, dogs and more dogs.
Diversion watch
Helping teammates when they are in need of assistance completing their route.
Whether you find yourself in rain, sleet, snow, ice, wind, extreme heat, sun, shade, cloudy, or beautiful weather we have to read all of the meters.
Journey Meter Man
The job would be working in the Denver Metro area, exchanging single phase and three phase electric meters, RUG and Recorder maintenance, loop connects, field programming and field testing. We are currently working multiple contracts, meaning you could be working in Denver one day and Windsor the next. We will provide a light-duty work truck and all the tools you will need to complete any order.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good record.
Applicant must have completed an Apprentice training program or must have a state certification.
5 years experience working as a Journey Electric Meter Man.
We work as a team. Must work well in a team setting.
Responsibilities:
Exchanging all types and technologies of electric meters in the field.
Exchanging and converting K-base and A-base electric meters.
Recorder and RUG maintenance.
Wiring CTs
Fuses
Electric tracing
Disconnects
Reconnects
Field programming
Field meter testing and site certification
